Ingredients
Wet Ingredients:
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips, melted and slightly cooled
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Dry Ingredients:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips or chunks for folding in
Instructions
- Preheat the oven and prepare the baking sheet: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Mix wet ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter, sugar, and melted chocolate until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla extract, whisk until glossy.
- Combine dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, sift flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually stir into wet mixture.
- Add chocolate chunks: Fold in additional chocolate chips or chunks. Chill dough for 20–30 minutes.
- Bake: Scoop dough onto baking sheet, bake for 10–12 minutes. Cool on sheet, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- For extra fudgy cookies, slightly underbake and let them finish setting as they cool.
- Add a pinch of espresso powder to intensify the chocolate flavor.
