Description

Indulge in the rich, decadent flavor of these Dark Chocolate Coffee Truffles. These luscious treats combine the bitterness of dark chocolate with the boldness of espresso for a luxurious dessert experience.

Ingredients

For the Truffles:

  • 8 ounces dark chocolate (60–70% cacao, finely chopped)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon instant espresso powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt

For Coating:

  • cocoa powder or finely ground espresso beans

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ganache: Place chopped dark chocolate in a heatproof bowl. Heat heavy cream, butter, and instant espresso powder in a saucepan until simmering. Pour over chocolate, let sit, then stir until smooth.
  2. Chill the Mixture: Stir in vanilla extract and sea salt. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours until firm.
  3. Shape the Truffles: Use a scoop to form balls, then roll in cocoa powder or ground espresso.
  4. Store and Serve: Keep truffles in the refrigerator in an airtight container until ready to serve.

Notes

  • Enhance with coffee liqueur or orange zest for added flavor.
  • Allow truffles to sit at room temperature briefly for optimal texture.
