Description

These Crunchy Granola Heart Bars are a delicious and wholesome snack made with rolled oats, almonds, honey, and coconut oil. Baked to golden perfection and topped with melted dark chocolate and dried cranberries, these bars offer a perfect balance of sweetness and crunch. Ideal for a healthy snack or a sweet treat, they are easy to make and perfect for sharing.

Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1 cup almonds, chopped
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup dried cranberries, chopped

Wet Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil, melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 325°F (160°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  2. Mix dry ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the rolled oats and chopped almonds evenly.
  3. Heat wet ingredients: In a small saucepan, gently heat the honey and melted coconut oil together until fully combined and melted. Stir in the vanilla extract and salt.
  4. Combine mixtures: Pour the honey and oil mixture over the oats and almonds. Stir thoroughly to coat all dry ingredients evenly.
  5. Spread on baking sheet: Transfer the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet and press firmly to create an even layer.
  6. Bake: Bake for 20-25 minutes until the bars turn golden brown. Remove and allow to cool completely to set.
  7. Shape the bars: Once cooled, use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut the mixture into heart-shaped bars.
  8. Add toppings: Drizzle the melted dark chocolate over the shaped bars, then sprinkle with chopped dried cranberries for a decorative and flavorful finish.

Notes

  • Make sure the mixture is fully cooled before cutting to prevent crumbling.
  • Use parchment paper to easily lift the bars after baking.
  • You can substitute almonds with walnuts or pecans based on preference.
  • Store bars in an airtight container for up to one week.
  • For a nut-free option, replace almonds with additional oats or seeds.
