A rich, tangy, and savory hot dog chili made in the crockpot, perfect for topping hot dogs, burgers, fries, and more.
Ingredients
- 1 lb lean ground beef (90/10 preferred)
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1 tbsp yellow mustard
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp chili powder (adjust to taste)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp onion powder or 1 tbsp minced onion
Instructions
- Place ground beef and water in a skillet over medium heat. Cook, breaking up the meat into fine crumbles.
- Drain excess grease and transfer the beef to a slow cooker.
- Add tomato sauce, ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder, salt, pepper, sugar, and onion powder. Stir to combine.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 2 to 2½ hours.
- Stir before serving and spoon over hot dogs, fries, burgers, or nachos.

- Add cayenne or hot sauce for more heat.
- Brown sugar adds a sweet twist.
- Smoked paprika or liquid smoke brings a smoky depth.
