Description

This Crockpot French Dip Sandwich recipe is a delicious and comforting meal that’s perfect for busy days. Tender, juicy beef cooked low and slow in a flavorful broth, served on crusty rolls with melted cheese – a family favorite!

Ingredients

For the Beef:

  • 3 lbs beef chuck roast
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 (10.5 oz) can beef consommé
  • 1 (10.5 oz) can French onion soup
  • 1 cup low-sodium beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

For Serving:

  • 6 hoagie rolls or French sandwich rolls
  • 12 slices provolone cheese

Instructions

  1. Sear the Beef: Heat olive oil in a skillet and brown the chuck roast on all sides.
  2. Crockpot Cooking: Transfer roast to the crockpot, add consommé, French onion soup, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and seasonings. Cook on low for 8 hours.
  3. Shred and Assemble: Shred the beef, assemble sandwiches with provolone, and broil until cheese is melted.
  4. Serve: Serve sandwiches with au jus for dipping.

Notes

  • To save time, skip searing the roast, although it enhances flavor.
  • Toast buns before assembling for added crunch.
  • For extra flavor, rub cut garlic on the rolls before broiling.
