Description

Ingredients

Potato Mixture:

  • 1 1/2 pounds russet potatoes, peeled and diced

Meat and Vegetable Mixture:

  • 1 pound ground beef or shaved steak
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

Additional Ingredients:

  • 2 cups shredded cheddar or provolone cheese
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Cooking spray or butter for greasing


Instructions

  1. Grease the Crockpot: Grease the inside of your crockpot with cooking spray or butter.
  2. Cook Meat and Vegetables: Brown the ground beef or steak in a skillet. Add onion, bell pepper, and garlic; cook until softened.
  3. Combine Ingredients: In a bowl, mix cooked meat and vegetables with potatoes, broth, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and paprika.
  4. Layer in Crockpot: Place half of the mixture in the crockpot, top with cheese, then add the remaining mixture and cheese.
  5. Cook: Cover and cook on low for 6–7 hours or high for 3–4 hours until potatoes are tender and cheese is melted.
  6. Serve: Serve warm.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, consider adding sliced mushrooms or using pepper jack cheese.
  • This recipe can also be made with frozen diced potatoes for convenience.
