Description

Indulge in the rich flavors of homemade Crockpot Apple Butter with this easy-to-follow recipe. Perfect for spreading on toast, mixing into yogurt, or enjoying straight from the jar!

Ingredients

Apples:

  • 6 pounds apples (such as Fuji, Gala, or McIntosh), peeled, cored, and chopped

Sugar Mix:

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Additional:

  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Apples: Place the chopped apples in a large crockpot.
  2. Add granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, and salt. Stir to coat the apples evenly with the spices.

  3. Cook: Cover and cook on low for 10 hours, stirring occasionally, until the apples are soft and dark brown.
  4. Use an immersion blender to puree the mixture until smooth, or transfer to a blender in batches.

  5. Final Steps: Stir in the vanilla extract. Remove the lid and continue cooking on low for an additional 1–2 hours to thicken, stirring occasionally.
  6. Let cool and store in airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks or freeze for longer storage.

Notes

  • You can adjust the sugar to taste depending on the sweetness of your apples.
  • For a deeper flavor, cook uncovered longer at the end until the butter reaches your desired thickness.
