Ingredients
Chicken and Sauce
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 packet (1 ounce) dry Italian dressing mix
- 1 can (10.5 ounces) cream of chicken soup
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 cup dry white wine (or additional chicken broth)
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Pasta
- 12 ounces angel hair pasta, cooked according to package instructions
Instructions
- Prepare the Crockpot: Lightly grease the bottom of your crockpot to prevent sticking. Place the 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts evenly in the bottom of the crockpot.
- Make the Sauce: In a medium bowl, whisk together the dry Italian dressing mix, cream of chicken soup, softened cream cheese, chicken broth, dry white wine (or extra broth), garlic powder, salt, and pepper until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
- Combine and Cook: Pour the creamy sauce evenly over the chicken breasts in the crockpot. Cover with the lid and cook on low for 5 to 6 hours, or on high for 3 to 4 hours, until the chicken is tender and fully cooked through.
- Cook the Pasta: About 20 minutes before serving, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the angel hair pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Shred and Mix: Remove the cooked chicken breasts from the crockpot and shred or slice them into bite-sized pieces. Return the chicken to the crockpot and stir it thoroughly into the creamy sauce to combine.
- Serve: Serve the shredded chicken and creamy sauce over the cooked angel hair pasta. Garnish as desired and enjoy immediately.
Notes
- Add sliced mushrooms or baby spinach during the last hour of cooking for extra flavor and nutrients.
- This recipe works well with boneless chicken thighs if preferred.
- Using white wine adds depth to the sauce, but substituting with chicken broth is a good non-alcoholic alternative.
- Ensure cream cheese is softened to blend smoothly with the other ingredients for the best sauce texture.
