Description

These Crock Pot Cinnamon Rolls with Cherry Pie Filling are a delicious and easy-to-make dessert perfect for any occasion. Soft, fluffy cinnamon rolls baked slowly in a crock pot with a layer of sweet cherry pie filling create a warm, fruity treat. Finished with a drizzle of icing and optional whipped cream or vanilla ice cream, this recipe makes for an indulgent breakfast or dessert without needing an oven.

Ingredients

Cinnamon Rolls

  • 1 can (16.5 oz) refrigerated cinnamon roll dough (with icing)
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter (for greasing)
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)

Cherry Pie Filling

  • 1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling

For Serving (Optional)

  • Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream

Instructions

  1. Prepare the crock pot: Grease the inside of the crock pot with the unsalted butter to prevent the cinnamon rolls from sticking during cooking.
  2. Layer the ingredients: Evenly spread half of the cherry pie filling on the bottom of the greased crock pot.
  3. Add the cinnamon rolls: Separate the refrigerated cinnamon roll dough and place the individual rolls in a single layer over the cherry pie filling.
  4. Top with more cherries: Sprinkle the ground cinnamon over the rolls if using, then spoon the remaining cherry pie filling evenly over the top of the rolls.
  5. Slow cook: Cover the crock pot with its lid and cook on the High setting for 2 hours or on Low for 3 hours, until the cinnamon rolls are fluffy and fully cooked through.
  6. Drizzle with icing: When the rolls are done, drizzle the reserved icing that came with the cinnamon roll dough over the warm rolls for a sweet finish.
  7. Serve & enjoy: Serve the cinnamon rolls immediately, optionally topped with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for extra indulgence and creaminess.

Notes

  • Cooking times may vary depending on your crock pot model; check doneness by ensuring rolls are cooked through.
  • For a less sweet option, you can reduce the amount of cherry pie filling used.
  • Make sure to grease the crock pot thoroughly to prevent sticking and help with easy cleanup.
  • Serve warm for best texture and flavor.
  • You can add chopped nuts or a sprinkle of powdered sugar on top for added texture.
