Description

These Crock Pot Chicken Tacos are a delicious and easy meal to prepare in your slow cooker. Tender shredded chicken flavored with taco seasoning, salsa, and spices, served in taco shells or tortillas with your favorite toppings.


Ingredients

Chicken:

  • 2 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts

Seasoning:

  • 1 packet taco seasoning (or 2 tablespoons homemade)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon cumin

Other:

  • 1 cup salsa or diced tomatoes with green chilies
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • juice of 1 lime
  • taco shells or tortillas
  • toppings like shredded lettuce, cheese, sour cream, avocado, and cilantro


Instructions

  1. Place Chicken in Crock Pot: Put the chicken breasts in the slow cooker.
  2. Add Seasoning: Sprinkle taco seasoning, garlic powder, and cumin over the chicken.
  3. Layer Ingredients: Add chopped onion, salsa, and chicken broth.
  4. Cook: Cover and cook on low for 6–7 hours or high for 3–4 hours.
  5. Shred Chicken: Remove chicken, shred it, then return it to the pot with lime juice.
  6. Finish Cooking: Let it cook for an additional 10–15 minutes.
  7. Serve: Fill taco shells with chicken and desired toppings.
