Description

These Crispy Jalapeño Corn Wontons are a delightful fusion appetizer, combining the flavors of corn, jalapeños, and cheese in a crispy fried package. Perfect for gatherings or as a tasty snack!

Ingredients

Wonton Filling:

  • 20 wonton wrappers
  • 1 cup corn kernels, fresh or frozen
  • 2 jalapeños, seeded and finely diced
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

For Frying:

  • Oil for frying
  • Sour cream or ranch for dipping

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Filling: Mix corn, jalapeños, cream cheese, cheddar cheese, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper in a bowl.
  2. Fill and Seal: Place 1 tsp of filling in each wonton wrapper, moisten edges, fold into a triangle, press to seal, and fold corners inward for extra security.
  3. Fry the Wontons: Heat oil in a skillet, fry wontons in batches until golden and crispy on both sides. Drain on paper towels.
  4. Serve: Enjoy warm with sour cream or ranch dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 8–10 minutes, brushing with oil.
  • Add crumbled cooked bacon for extra flavor.
  • Wontons can be assembled ahead and frozen before frying.
