These Crispy Garlic Mushroom Bites are the perfect appetizer or snack. Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, these flavorful mushrooms are a crowd pleaser.
Ingredients
Mushrooms:
- 16 oz whole button or cremini mushrooms (cleaned and stems trimmed)
Batter:
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon milk
Breading:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1½ cups panko breadcrumbs
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
Other:
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Chopped fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare Ingredients: Whisk eggs and milk in a small bowl. Place flour in a shallow bowl. Combine panko breadcrumbs, Parmesan, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in another bowl.
- Bread Mushrooms: Dip mushrooms in flour, then egg mixture, then breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to coat.
- Fry Mushrooms: Heat oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry mushrooms in batches for 3–4 minutes until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
- Serve: Garnish with parsley and serve with dipping sauce.
Notes
- For an oven-baked version, spray coated mushrooms with oil and bake at 400°F (200°C) for 20–25 minutes, turning once halfway through.
- Great with ranch, garlic aioli, or marinara sauce.
