Ingredients

Fish Tacos:

  • 1 pound white fish fillets (such as cod or tilapia)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup cold sparkling water
  • vegetable oil for frying
  • 8 small corn or flour tortillas

Cilantro Lime Slaw:

  • 2 cups shredded green cabbage
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Slaw: In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, lime juice, honey, salt, and cilantro. Toss with shredded cabbage and chill.
  2. Prepare the Fish: Pat fish fillets dry, cut into strips. Mix flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, pepper. Add water and make batter.
  3. Fry the Fish: Dip fish in batter and fry until golden brown and crispy.
  4. Assemble Tacos: Warm tortillas, add crispy fish, top with slaw.
