Description

These crispy chicken nuggets are golden on the outside, juicy on the inside, and perfect for both kids and adults. A quick and easy homemade version of the classic favorite.


Ingredients

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko preferred for extra crunch)
  • 2 large eggs
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Place chicken pieces in a bowl and pour in the buttermilk. Add garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well, cover, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Set up a breading station with three shallow bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs.
  3. Remove chicken from the marinade. Dredge each piece first in flour, then dip in egg, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Fry chicken nuggets in batches for 4–5 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Remove and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
  7. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauces.
