Description

Indulge in the ultimate comfort food with this Crispy Cheesy Creamy Tuna Melt recipe. A perfect combination of tuna salad, gooey cheese, and crunchy bread, this sandwich is a quick and satisfying meal for any time of day.

Ingredients

Tuna Salad:

  • 2 cans (5 oz each) tuna in water, drained and flaked
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped red onion
  • 1 tablespoon chopped dill pickles or relish
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Assembly:

  • 4 slices sourdough or sandwich bread
  • 1 tablespoon butter, softened
  • 4 slices sharp cheddar or Swiss cheese

Instructions

  1. Tuna Salad: In a bowl, mix the tuna, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, red onion, pickles, lemon juice, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  2. Assembly: Spread the tuna mixture evenly on two slices of bread. Top each with two slices of cheese and the remaining bread slices to form sandwiches. Butter the outside of each sandwich.
  3. Cooking: Heat a skillet over medium heat. Cook the sandwiches for 3 to 4 minutes per side, pressing gently with a spatula, until golden brown and the cheese is melted. Slice and serve hot.

Notes

  • You can toast the sandwiches in a panini press or air fryer for extra crispiness.
  • Try adding sliced tomato or avocado inside for variation.
