Description

Indulge in the crispy, cheesy goodness of this flavorful Crispy Cheesy Chicken recipe. Tender chicken breasts coated in a savory blend of sour cream, spices, and a crunchy cheddar cracker crust, baked to perfection. A family-friendly favorite that’s easy to make and irresistibly delicious.

Ingredients

Chicken:

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts;

Cheese Mixture:

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese; 1 ½ cups crushed Ritz crackers or seasoned breadcrumbs;

Sour Cream Mixture:

½ cup sour cream or plain Greek yogurt; 1 teaspoon garlic powder; ½ teaspoon onion powder; ½ teaspoon salt; ¼ teaspoon black pepper;

Additional:

2 tablespoons melted butter; chopped parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Mix Sour Cream: In a small bowl, mix the sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Combine Cracker and Cheese Mixture: In another bowl, combine crushed crackers and shredded cheddar cheese.
  4. Coat Chicken: Spread the sour cream mixture evenly over each chicken breast. Press the cracker and cheese mixture firmly onto the coated chicken.
  5. Bake: Place the coated chicken breasts in the prepared baking dish, drizzle with melted butter, and bake for 35 to 40 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Rest and Serve: Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a pinch of paprika or Italian seasoning to the crumb mixture.
  • This recipe works great with chicken tenders for kid-friendly portions.
