Description

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Italian sausage, casings removed
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add sausage and cook until browned and cooked through, breaking it up with a spoon.
  3. Add chopped onion and cook until soft, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Stir in minced garlic and red pepper flakes, cooking for another 1-2 minutes.
  5. Pour in chicken broth and simmer for 2-3 minutes, scraping up any bits from the pan.
  6. Add heavy cream and Italian seasoning, stirring well. Let simmer for 3-5 minutes until sauce thickens slightly.
  7. Stir in Parmesan cheese until melted and combined. Season with salt and pepper.
  8. Add cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat in the creamy sauce.
  9. Serve warm, garnished with fresh parsley.
