Description

Creamy Paprika Chicken with Tender Rice in a Velvety Sauce is a comforting and flavorful one-pan meal that combines juicy chicken seasoned with a blend of paprikas, garlic, and spices, nestled in a creamy rice dish. This dish is perfect for a cozy dinner at home.

Ingredients

For the Chicken:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon sweet paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

For the Rice:

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup long-grain white rice
  • 2 cups low-sodium chicken broth
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ¼ cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Season the Chicken: Rub chicken with both paprikas, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Sear the Chicken: Heat oil and butter in a skillet, sear chicken until golden, then set aside.
  3. Prepare the Rice: Sauté onion and garlic, add rice, toast, pour in broth, simmer, then add chicken back in. Cover and cook until rice is tender.
  4. Make the Sauce: Remove chicken, stir in heavy cream and sour cream to create a velvety sauce. Return chicken to the pan and heat through.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Garnish with parsley before serving hot.

Notes

  • You can substitute Greek yogurt for sour cream for a tangier finish.
  • For added depth, use a mix of smoked and hot paprika.
