Ingredients
Orzo Pasta:
1 cup orzo pasta
Garlic Butter:
1 tablespoon olive oil, 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, 3 cloves garlic (minced)
Asparagus:
1 bunch asparagus (trimmed and cut into 1-inch pieces)
Liquid and Seasonings:
2 cups vegetable broth, 1 cup whole milk, 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese, salt and black pepper to taste, optional red pepper flakes for heat, fresh lemon zest or juice for brightness
Instructions
- Prepare Garlic Butter Asparagus: Heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a skillet, sauté garlic, add asparagus, cook until tender, set aside.
- Cook Orzo: In the same skillet, add butter and orzo, toast until golden. Pour in broth and milk, simmer until orzo is tender.
