Description

Indulge in the creamy and tangy flavors of this homemade Creamy Horseradish Sauce. Perfect for pairing with roast beef, prime rib, or smoked salmon, or as a zesty sandwich spread or veggie dip.

Ingredients

Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons prepared horseradish (drained)
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar or lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh chives or parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together sour cream, horseradish, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, vinegar or lemon juice, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until smooth. Stir in chopped herbs if desired.
  2. Adjust Seasoning: Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning as needed.
  3. Chill: Cover and refrigerate the sauce for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.

  • This sauce complements roast beef, prime rib, smoked salmon, and works well as a sandwich spread or veggie dip.
