Description

Creamy Garlic-Paprika Shrimp Skillet is a one-pan dish with tender shrimp in a rich, velvety sauce flavored with garlic, paprika, and a hint of lemon—perfect for a 30-minute meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tsp sweet or smoked paprika
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup chicken or vegetable broth
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Season shrimp with salt and pepper. In a skillet over medium-high heat, heat olive oil and 1 tbsp butter. Sear shrimp for 1 minute per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
  2. Add remaining butter to skillet. Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds. Stir in paprika and cook for another 30 seconds.
  3. Deglaze pan with broth, scraping any browned bits. Simmer for 1–2 minutes.
  4. Lower heat, add heavy cream, and simmer 2–3 minutes until sauce thickens slightly.
  5. Return shrimp and juices to skillet. Stir in lemon juice and simmer 1 minute until heated through. Adjust salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Garnish with parsley and serve hot.

Notes

  • Garnish with extra paprika, lemon wedges, or cracked black pepper for added flair.
  • Serve over pasta, rice, or with crusty bread to soak up the sauce.
  • Great for tapas when served on toasted baguette rounds or in small bowls.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 2 days; reheat gently to maintain texture.
  • Freeze for up to 1 month; thaw overnight in fridge and reheat slowly.
  • Use plant-based butter and coconut cream for a dairy-free version.
  • Mix in veggies like spinach, peppers, or tomatoes for added color and nutrients.
  • Pair with Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio, or dry rosé for a lovely wine match.
