Description
Creamy Garlic-Paprika Shrimp Skillet is a one-pan dish with tender shrimp in a rich, velvety sauce flavored with garlic, paprika, and a hint of lemon—perfect for a 30-minute meal.
Ingredients
- 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tsp sweet or smoked paprika
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup chicken or vegetable broth
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Season shrimp with salt and pepper. In a skillet over medium-high heat, heat olive oil and 1 tbsp butter. Sear shrimp for 1 minute per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
- Add remaining butter to skillet. Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds. Stir in paprika and cook for another 30 seconds.
- Deglaze pan with broth, scraping any browned bits. Simmer for 1–2 minutes.
- Lower heat, add heavy cream, and simmer 2–3 minutes until sauce thickens slightly.
- Return shrimp and juices to skillet. Stir in lemon juice and simmer 1 minute until heated through. Adjust salt and pepper to taste.
- Garnish with parsley and serve hot.
Notes
- Garnish with extra paprika, lemon wedges, or cracked black pepper for added flair.
- Serve over pasta, rice, or with crusty bread to soak up the sauce.
- Great for tapas when served on toasted baguette rounds or in small bowls.
- Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 2 days; reheat gently to maintain texture.
- Freeze for up to 1 month; thaw overnight in fridge and reheat slowly.
- Use plant-based butter and coconut cream for a dairy-free version.
- Mix in veggies like spinach, peppers, or tomatoes for added color and nutrients.
- Pair with Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio, or dry rosé for a lovely wine match.
