Lobster Tails
- 4 lobster tails (about 5–6 ounces each)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Creamy Garlic Butter Sauce
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/3 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Prep the Lobster Tails: Using kitchen shears, carefully cut the top shell of each lobster tail lengthwise down the center. Gently lift the lobster meat and place it on top of the shell, keeping it attached at the base. Brush the lobster meat with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
- Broil the Lobster: Preheat your oven’s broiler to high. Arrange the prepared lobster tails on a baking sheet lined with foil. Broil for 8–10 minutes or until the meat is opaque and lightly browned. Remove from the oven and set aside.
- Make the Garlic Butter: In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Prepare the Cream Sauce: Pour the heavy cream into the skillet with the garlic butter. Bring to a simmer, then stir in Parmesan cheese, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, and red pepper flakes if using. Whisk continually until the Parmesan is melted and the sauce is slightly thickened, about 2-3 minutes.
- Finish and Serve: Nestle the broiled lobster tails into the creamy garlic butter sauce and spoon some of the sauce over the meat. Sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley. Serve immediately with extra sauce on the side if desired.
Notes
- If using larger or smaller lobster tails, adjust the broiling time accordingly. The lobster is done when the meat is opaque and firm to the touch.
- For added richness, add a splash of white wine to the sauce before simmering.
- Pair with crusty bread or pasta to soak up the delicious sauce.
