Description
A creamy, cheesy, bacon-filled chicken breast crusted with crunchy Doritos—pure comfort food that’s easy enough for weeknights but special enough to impress.
Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 8 oz chive and onion cream cheese
- 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of bacon soup
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup real bacon bits
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 2 cups crushed Nacho Cheese Doritos
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to blend the chive and onion cream cheese with the cream of bacon soup until smooth.
- Stir in shredded mozzarella cheese and real bacon bits. Set filling aside.
- Carefully slice each chicken breast horizontally to form a pocket, leaving the opposite side intact.
- Spoon filling into each chicken breast and press edges gently to seal.
- Place stuffed chicken in the greased baking dish.
- Brush each chicken breast with beaten egg.
- Sprinkle crushed Doritos over the top and press gently so they stick.
- Bake for 33–35 minutes, or until the chicken reaches 165°F internally and the coating is golden and crispy.
- Let rest a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- Use a meat thermometer to ensure safe internal temperature (165°F).
- Grease the dish well to prevent sticking and ease cleanup.
- Try Flamin’ Hot or Cool Ranch Doritos for a fun twist.
- To make it low-carb, substitute Doritos with crushed pork rinds or almond flour and Parmesan.
