Description

Cranberry Brie Bites are delightful, easy-to-make appetizers perfect for holiday gatherings or any special occasion. These bite-sized treats feature creamy Brie cheese nestled in flaky puff pastry, topped with tangy whole berry cranberry sauce and a touch of fresh herbs. Finished with a golden egg wash and a drizzle of honey, they offer a perfect balance of savory, sweet, and flaky textures that will impress your guests.

Ingredients

Pastry

  • 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed)

Filling

  • 4 ounces Brie cheese (cut into small cubes)
  • 1/2 cup whole berry cranberry sauce
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh rosemary or thyme (optional)

Others

  • 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)
  • Honey for drizzling (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Prepare a mini muffin tin by greasing the wells or lining them with paper cups to prevent sticking.
  2. Prepare Puff Pastry: On a lightly floured surface, roll out the thawed puff pastry into a 10×10 inch square. Use a sharp knife or a pizza cutter to cut the pastry into 24 even squares.
  3. Form Pastry Cups: Gently press each pastry square into the wells of the mini muffin tin, molding the dough to create little cups that will hold the filling.
  4. Add Filling: Place one small cube of Brie cheese into each pastry cup. Spoon about 1 teaspoon of whole berry cranberry sauce over the Brie. If using, sprinkle a pinch of chopped fresh rosemary or thyme on top of each.
  5. Apply Egg Wash: Brush the edges of each puff pastry cup with the beaten egg. This step helps achieve a beautiful golden-brown finish when baked.
  6. Bake: Place the muffin tin in the preheated oven and bake for 15 to 18 minutes, or until the puff pastry is puffed and golden and the Brie cheese has melted.
  7. Cool and Serve: Allow the cranberry Brie bites to cool in the tin for about 5 minutes. If desired, drizzle honey over the warm bites before serving for an added touch of sweetness.

Notes

  • These bites can be assembled ahead of time and baked just before serving to save time during gatherings.
  • You can substitute cranberry sauce with fig jam or raspberry preserves for different flavor variations.
