Ingredients
Pastry
- 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed)
Filling
- 4 ounces Brie cheese (cut into small cubes)
- 1/2 cup whole berry cranberry sauce
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh rosemary or thyme (optional)
Others
- 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)
- Honey for drizzling (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Prepare a mini muffin tin by greasing the wells or lining them with paper cups to prevent sticking.
- Prepare Puff Pastry: On a lightly floured surface, roll out the thawed puff pastry into a 10×10 inch square. Use a sharp knife or a pizza cutter to cut the pastry into 24 even squares.
- Form Pastry Cups: Gently press each pastry square into the wells of the mini muffin tin, molding the dough to create little cups that will hold the filling.
- Add Filling: Place one small cube of Brie cheese into each pastry cup. Spoon about 1 teaspoon of whole berry cranberry sauce over the Brie. If using, sprinkle a pinch of chopped fresh rosemary or thyme on top of each.
- Apply Egg Wash: Brush the edges of each puff pastry cup with the beaten egg. This step helps achieve a beautiful golden-brown finish when baked.
- Bake: Place the muffin tin in the preheated oven and bake for 15 to 18 minutes, or until the puff pastry is puffed and golden and the Brie cheese has melted.
- Cool and Serve: Allow the cranberry Brie bites to cool in the tin for about 5 minutes. If desired, drizzle honey over the warm bites before serving for an added touch of sweetness.
Notes
- These bites can be assembled ahead of time and baked just before serving to save time during gatherings.
- You can substitute cranberry sauce with fig jam or raspberry preserves for different flavor variations.
