Description

Delicious and easy-to-make Crab & Cheese Filled Crescent Rolls featuring a creamy mixture of crab meat, cream cheese, cheddar, and flavorful seasonings wrapped in buttery crescent dough and baked to golden perfection. Perfect as an appetizer or snack.

Ingredients

Crescent Rolls

  • 1 can (8 oz) crescent roll dough (or 1 tube of crescent roll dough)

Filling

  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or your favorite cheese)
  • 1/2 cup cooked crab meat (imitation crab works as well)
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Finishing

  • 1 tablespoon melted butter (for brushing, optional)
  • Fresh parsley (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat to prevent sticking.
  2. Prepare the Filling: In a medium bowl, combine the cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, cooked crab meat, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard (if using), lemon juice, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated. Season with salt and pepper to your taste.
  3. Prepare the Crescent Rolls: Unroll the crescent roll dough onto the prepared baking sheet. Separate the dough along the perforated lines into individual triangles ready for filling.
  4. Fill the Crescent Rolls: Place a generous spoonful of the crab and cheese mixture in the center of each crescent dough triangle. Fold the edges over the filling and roll tightly to seal the ends. Alternatively, shape the dough into pockets or crescents as preferred.
  5. Bake the Crescent Rolls: Brush the tops of the filled rolls with melted butter to enhance flavor and help achieve a golden crust. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes until golden brown and puffed.
  6. Serve: Remove the rolls from the oven and let them cool for a minute. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Serve warm as a tasty appetizer, snack, or side dish.

Notes

  • You can substitute imitation crab meat for fresh cooked crab meat depending on availability and budget.
  • Feel free to use any shredded cheese you prefer for a different flavor profile.
  • Brushing with melted butter is optional but adds a nice golden color and richness.
  • Serve these rolls warm for the best texture and flavor.
  • These can be prepared ahead and baked just before serving for convenience.
