Ingredients
Popcorn:
- 10 cups plain popped popcorn
Cotton Candy Coating:
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ¼ cup light corn syrup
- 2 tablespoons water
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- ½ teaspoon cotton candy flavoring (or raspberry/vanilla as a substitute)
- Pink and/or blue gel food coloring (optional)
- ¼ teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Prepare Popcorn: Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Place popped popcorn in a large mixing bowl, removing any unpopped kernels.
- Make Cotton Candy Coating: In a saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, water, butter, and salt. Boil without stirring until it reaches 235–240°F.
- Coat Popcorn: Remove from heat, add flavoring and coloring, pour over popcorn, and toss to coat. Spread on baking sheet.
- Cool and Serve: Let popcorn cool for 20–30 minutes, then break into clusters and serve.
