Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup Dutch process cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup rainbow candy-coated chips or sprinkles
Instructions
- Cream butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla until smooth.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to wet ingredients and mix until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips.
- Chill dough for at least 30 minutes. Scoop dough onto lined baking sheets and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10–12 minutes. Let cool on pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
- To make glaze, gently melt mini chocolate chips with heavy cream over low heat, stirring until smooth. Let cool slightly.
- Spoon glaze over each cooled cookie and spread to edges. While still tacky, sprinkle rainbow chips or sprinkles on top.
- Let glaze set at room temperature or chill briefly. Serve once set.
Notes
- Use Dutch process cocoa for rich brownie-like flavor.
- Chill dough to prevent spreading and enhance fudgy texture.
- Customize toppings with sprinkles, chopped candy, or white chocolate drizzle.
- Cookies stay chewy for days and freeze well for future treats.
