Ingredients

For the dough:

  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F)
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour

For the filling:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons instant coffee granules

For the frosting:

  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons brewed strong coffee, cooled
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare the dough: In a large bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit until foamy, then add melted butter, eggs, salt, and flour. Knead until smooth.
  2. Make the filling: Mix softened butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and coffee granules. Spread over rolled dough.
  3. Shape and bake: Roll the dough, slice into rolls, place in a baking dish, and let rise. Bake until golden brown.
  4. Prepare the frosting: Beat cream cheese and butter, then add powdered sugar, coffee, vanilla, and salt. Spread over warm rolls.

Notes

  • For a stronger coffee flavor, use brewed coffee in the dough.
  • Prep these rolls the night before and bake in the morning.
  • Store leftovers covered at room temperature or refrigerate.
