Description
A refreshing and creamy Coconut Lime Frozen Margarita recipe that combines tropical flavors with a tangy lime twist. Perfectly blended to icy smoothness and served with a salted lime-zest rim, this non-alcoholic cocktail is ideal for summer gatherings or anytime you crave a cool, tropical drink.
Ingredients
For the Glass Rim:
- Zest of one lime
- Kosher salt, enough for rimming
- Lime juice, for wetting the rims
For the Margaritas:
- 1 can (15 oz) cream of coconut
- 3/4 cup non-alcoholic rum or fruit juice (such as lime or pineapple juice)
- 1/2 cup fresh lime juice
- 1/4 cup orange juice or orange-flavored syrup
- 3 cups ice cubes
Instructions
- Prepare the Glasses: Begin by making a mixture of lime zest and kosher salt on a small plate. This will be used to rim your glasses.
- Rim the Glasses: Wet the rims of your serving glasses by dipping them in fresh lime juice. Then immediately dip the rims into the lime zest and kosher salt mixture to coat them well. Set the glasses aside to let the rims dry slightly and set.
- Make the Margaritas: In a blender, combine the cream of coconut, your choice of non-alcoholic rum or a fruit juice like lime or pineapple juice, fresh lime juice, orange juice or orange-flavored syrup, and ice cubes.
- Blend the Drink: Blend all the ingredients until smooth and creamy. For the best texture, add ice one cup at a time, blending between additions until the consistency is perfectly frozen and slushy.
- Serve: Pour the frozen margarita mixture into the prepared glasses with the salted lime-zest rims. Garnish each glass with a wedge of lime for an extra fresh touch.
- Enjoy: Serve immediately to enjoy the perfectly chilled, tropical Coconut Lime Frozen Margaritas.
Notes
- This recipe uses non-alcoholic rum or fruit juices for a family-friendly version, but you can substitute with regular rum for an alcoholic cocktail.
- Adjust the amount of ice to achieve your preferred frozen consistency.
- For more tropical flavor, try adding a splash of pineapple juice or garnish with a pineapple slice.
- If cream of coconut is not available, coconut milk with a bit of added sugar can be used, but the texture and sweetness will differ.
