Ingredients
For the Chicken:
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 4 slices Swiss cheese
- 4 slices deli ham
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 ½ cups seasoned breadcrumbs
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
For the Dijon Cream Sauce:
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- Pound the chicken: Place chicken breasts between plastic wrap and pound to ½-inch thickness. Season with salt and pepper.
- Stuff the chicken: Place ham and cheese on each breast, roll up tightly, and secure with toothpicks.
- Bread the chicken: Dredge chicken rolls in flour, egg, and breadcrumbs.
- Sear and bake: Sear rolls in a skillet, then bake in the oven for 20–25 minutes.
- Make the sauce: Melt butter, whisk in flour, add milk, Dijon, Parmesan, salt, and pepper.
- Serve: Remove toothpicks, slice chicken, drizzle with sauce, and garnish with parsley.
