Ingredients
For the Chicken Cordon Bleu:
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 4 slices deli ham
- 4 slices Swiss cheese
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably Panko)
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter (for baking)
For the Dijon Cream Sauce:
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Prepare Chicken: Pound chicken breasts to ¼-inch thickness. Place ham and cheese on each piece, roll up, and secure with toothpicks.
- Dredge: Dredge chicken rolls in flour, egg, and seasoned breadcrumbs.
- Bake: Place on a baking sheet, drizzle with oil, and bake for 25–30 minutes.
- Make Sauce: Optional Dijon cream sauce – melt butter, whisk in flour, add milk, Dijon, Parmesan, salt, and pepper.
