Ingredients
Dough and Base
- 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough (or crescent sheet if available)
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
Cinnamon-Sugar Topping
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
Glaze
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2–3 tbsp milk (adjust for desired consistency)
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
Optional Toppings
- Chopped nuts (walnuts, pecans, or almonds)
- Sprinkles
- Shredded coconut
Instructions
- Preheat & Prep: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it to prevent sticking.
- Roll Out the Dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough onto the prepared baking sheet. Pinch the seams together to form a solid sheet, then stretch or roll it slightly to create an even circle or rectangle shape.
- Add Butter and Cinnamon-Sugar: Brush the melted butter evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges. In a small bowl, mix the granulated sugar with ground cinnamon and sprinkle the mixture generously over the buttered dough.
- Cut into Slices: Using a knife or pizza cutter, slice the dough into 8-12 wedges like a pizza or into squares. For a fun twist, optionally twist each slice for a swirled effect and arrange them back into shape on the baking sheet.
- Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes until the dough is golden brown and cooked through.
- Make the Glaze: While the pizza is baking, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a bowl until smooth. Adjust the amount of milk to achieve your desired glaze consistency.
- Glaze and Decorate: Remove the baked cinnamon-sugar pizza from the oven and let it cool for 2-3 minutes. Drizzle the vanilla glaze evenly over the top. If desired, add optional toppings like chopped nuts, sprinkles, or shredded coconut while the glaze is still wet to help them stick.
- Serve: Slice and serve the cinnamon-sugar pizza warm for a delicious, gooey dessert that’s perfect for sharing.
Notes
- You can substitute the crescent roll dough with puff pastry if preferred.
- For a richer glaze, substitute milk with half-and-half or cream.
- Adjust the amount of cinnamon in the sugar mixture to suit your taste preferences.
- Optional toppings add texture and flavor but can be omitted for a simpler dessert.
- Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator and reheat briefly before serving.
