Ingredients
Dry Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
- 1 large egg, lightly beaten
Cinnamon Swirl
- 1/3 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
Glaze
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1–2 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat Oven and Prepare Pan: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan and line it with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt until combined.
- Combine Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, mix melted butter, milk, and the lightly beaten egg. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined to avoid overmixing and a dense bread.
- Make Cinnamon Swirl: In a small bowl, blend brown sugar, cinnamon, and melted butter to create the cinnamon swirl mixture.
- Layer Batter and Cinnamon Swirl: Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the batter, then use a knife to gently swirl it through. Repeat with the remaining batter and cinnamon mixture for a beautiful marbled effect.
- Bake the Bread: Bake in the preheated oven for 45 to 50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before removing it to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Prepare and Drizzle Glaze: Whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth and drizzle over the cooled cinnamon roll bread for a sweet finish.
Notes
- Use dairy or non-dairy milk as preferred.
- Do not overmix the batter to keep the bread tender.
- The glaze thickness can be adjusted by varying the amount of milk.
- Ensure bread is cooled before applying glaze to prevent it from melting.
