Ingredients
Bread and Filling
- 1 loaf white bread (thin slices)
- 5 1/2 oz cream cheese (softened)
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
Cinnamon Sugar Coating
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 tbsp cinnamon
- 1/2 cup butter (melted)
Instructions
- Prepare the bread: Cut off the crust from each slice of white bread to create soft flat pieces ready to be filled.
- Flatten the bread: Using a rolling pin, gently roll each slice of bread to flatten them out for easier rolling and filling.
- Make the cream cheese filling: In a small bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth and well blended.
- Combine cinnamon sugar: In a separate bowl, mix together the sugar and cinnamon thoroughly. Set aside.
- Fill and roll the bread: Spread about 1 to 1½ tablespoons of the cream cheese mixture evenly onto each flattened bread slice, then carefully roll them up.
- Coat the rolls: Dip each rolled bread into the melted butter, ensuring it is fully coated, then roll it in the cinnamon and sugar mixture until evenly covered.
- Arrange for baking: Place the coated rolls on an ungreased cookie sheet, spacing them slightly apart.
- Repeat the process: Continue filling, rolling, dipping, and coating the remaining pieces of bread.
- Bake: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 16-20 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crisp.
- Serve warm: Remove from oven and serve warm for the best flavor and texture. Enjoy your delicious cinnamon cream cheese roll ups!
Notes
- Use thinly sliced white bread for best results as it rolls easily without cracking.
- Make sure cream cheese is softened to blend smoothly with powdered sugar.
- You can substitute white bread with whole wheat or brioche bread for variation.
- For extra richness, brush the rolls with a little extra melted butter halfway through baking.
- These roll ups are best enjoyed fresh but can be reheated gently.
