Ingredients
Cream Cheese Filling:
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
French Toast:
- 8 slices thick-cut brioche or challah bread
- 4 large eggs
- ¾ cup whole milk
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for custard)
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for coating)
- butter or oil for frying
Instructions
- Cream Cheese Filling: In a small bowl, mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. Spread onto 4 slices of bread, top with remaining slices to make sandwiches.
- French Toast: In a shallow dish, whisk eggs, milk, cinnamon, vanilla (for custard), and salt. Dip sandwiches into custard, coating both sides. Cook in a skillet with butter/oil until golden brown. Combine granulated sugar and cinnamon in a bowl, then coat the toast immediately after cooking. Serve warm with toppings.
