Description

Indulge in the ultimate breakfast treat with this Churro Stuffed French Toast recipe. Creamy, sweet cream cheese sandwiched between thick slices of brioche, dipped in a cinnamon-vanilla custard, fried to golden perfection, and coated in a cinnamon sugar crust.


Ingredients

Cream Cheese Filling:

  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

French Toast:

  • 8 slices thick-cut brioche or challah bread
  • 4 large eggs
  • ¾ cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for custard)
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for coating)
  • butter or oil for frying


Instructions

  1. Cream Cheese Filling: In a small bowl, mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. Spread onto 4 slices of bread, top with remaining slices to make sandwiches.
  2. French Toast: In a shallow dish, whisk eggs, milk, cinnamon, vanilla (for custard), and salt. Dip sandwiches into custard, coating both sides. Cook in a skillet with butter/oil until golden brown. Combine granulated sugar and cinnamon in a bowl, then coat the toast immediately after cooking. Serve warm with toppings.
