Ingredients
Crescent Dough Layer
- 2 cans refrigerated crescent roll dough
Cinnamon Sugar Topping
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
Cheesecake Filling
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup cookie butter (such as Biscoff)
- 1/3 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Topping
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease an 8×8-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
- Mix Cinnamon Sugar: In a small bowl, thoroughly combine the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Set aside.
- First Dough Layer: Unroll one can of crescent roll dough and press it evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish, taking care to seal the seams so the layer holds together during baking.
- Add Cinnamon Sugar: Sprinkle half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the dough layer to infuse that signature churro flavor.
- Prepare Cheesecake Filling: In a medium-sized bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, cookie butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth, creamy, and well combined.
- Spread Filling: Spread the creamy cheesecake mixture evenly over the cinnamon sugar–topped crescent dough layer, creating an even layer for baking.
- Second Dough Layer: Unroll the second can of crescent roll dough and gently place it on top of the filling, making sure to seal the seams to encase the cheesecake filling completely.
- Add Butter and Remaining Cinnamon Sugar: Brush the top layer with the melted butter and sprinkle the remaining cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the surface for a beautifully spiced, golden crust.
- Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the filling is set.
- Cool and Serve: Allow the dessert to cool completely before cutting into bite-sized squares. For cleaner slices, chill the dish in the refrigerator before serving.
