Ingredients
For the Bars:
- 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract (optional)
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
For the Frosting:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 1/2 tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- food coloring (optional)

Instructions
- Preheat oven and prepare the baking dish: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×13-inch baking dish with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
- Make the Cookie Bars: Cream butter and sugar, add egg, vanilla, and almond extract. Mix dry ingredients separately, then combine with wet ingredients. Press dough into pan and bake until lightly golden.
- Prepare the Frosting: Beat butter, add powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth. Add food coloring if desired. Spread over cooled bars and top with sprinkles.
- Serve: Let the frosting set before cutting into squares.
