Ingredients
Cookie Dough:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed light brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Additional Mix-Ins:
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup red and green M&M’s
- 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
- holiday-themed sprinkles (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Prepare the Dough: Cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Beat in eggs and vanilla. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Combine wet and dry ingredients. Fold in chocolate chips, M&M’s, white chocolate chips, and nuts if using.
- Bake the Cookies: Scoop dough onto baking sheets. Add extra M&M’s or sprinkles on top. Bake for 10–12 minutes until golden. Cool on a wire rack.
Notes
- You can chill the dough for 30 minutes for thicker cookies.
- Substitute festive-colored candy for different holidays or omit the nuts for a nut-free version.
