Description

Indulge in the rich, decadent goodness of homemade Chocolate Truffles. These velvety, melt-in-your-mouth treats are perfect for any occasion and make a delightful gift for friends and family.

Ingredients

For the Truffles:

  • 8 ounces semi-sweet or bittersweet chocolate (finely chopped)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Optional Coatings:

  • cocoa powder
  • powdered sugar
  • finely chopped nuts
  • shredded coconut
  • melted chocolate for dipping

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ganache: Place chopped chocolate in a heatproof bowl. Heat cream until simmering, pour over chocolate, add butter and vanilla. Stir until smooth.
  2. Chill the Ganache: Cover bowl and refrigerate for at least 2 hours until firm.
  3. Shape the Truffles: Scoop portions and roll into balls. Coat or dip in desired toppings.
  4. Chill and Serve: Place truffles on a tray, chill for 15-30 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Enhance flavor with a splash of liqueur like Grand Marnier or Baileys.
  • Store truffles in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
