Description

These Chocolate Strawberry Frozen Yogurt Bites are a delightful and healthy dessert option, combining fresh strawberries with creamy Greek yogurt and a rich chocolate coating. Perfectly portioned as bite-sized treats, they offer a refreshing and indulgent snack that’s easy to prepare and freezer-friendly.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, finely chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups plain Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Chocolate Coating

  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil

Instructions

  1. Prepare the baking sheet: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent the yogurt bites from sticking during freezing.
  2. Mix yogurt and strawberries: In a medium bowl, gently fold the finely chopped strawberries into the plain Greek yogurt. Add the honey or maple syrup and vanilla extract, stirring until the mixture is evenly combined.
  3. Form the bites: Drop tablespoon-sized portions of the yogurt mixture onto the prepared baking sheet. Slightly flatten the tops with the back of a spoon to shape the bites.
  4. Freeze the bites: Place the baking sheet in the freezer and freeze the yogurt bites for 1 to 2 hours, or until completely firm.
  5. Melt the chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the semi-sweet chocolate chips and coconut oil. Heat in 20-second intervals, stirring between each interval, until the chocolate mixture is smooth and fully melted.
  6. Coat the frozen bites: Remove the frozen yogurt bites from the freezer. Dip each bite into the melted chocolate, coating them completely or drizzling the chocolate over the top as preferred.
  7. Freeze again: Return the chocolate-coated bites to the parchment-lined baking sheet, then freeze for an additional 15 to 20 minutes, or until the chocolate is set.
  8. Storage: Store the finished frozen yogurt bites in an airtight container in the freezer. Keep frozen until ready to serve to maintain texture and firmness.

Notes

  • For the best texture and creaminess, use full-fat Greek yogurt.
  • You can substitute fresh raspberries or blueberries in place of strawberries for flavor variations.
  • Keep the bites frozen until serving as they soften quickly at room temperature.
