Ingredients
Wet Ingredients:
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips, melted and slightly cooled
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Dry Ingredients:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips (for folding in)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Prepare the batter: In a large bowl, cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Add eggs, vanilla extract, and melted chocolate. In a separate bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet mixture. Fold in chocolate chips.
- Bake the cookies: Drop spoonfuls of dough onto baking sheets. Bake for 9–11 minutes until edges are set. Cool on the pan before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
- For extra richness, add a sprinkle of flaky sea salt before baking.
