Description

Delightful and romantic chocolate-covered Valentine strawberries featuring ripe fresh strawberries dipped in rich dark chocolate, elegantly drizzled with white chocolate, and adorned with festive heart-shaped sprinkles. Perfect for special occasions or a sweet homemade gift.

Ingredients

Strawberries

  • 500 g fresh strawberries

Chocolate Coating

  • 200 g dark chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp coconut oil
  • 100 g white chocolate chips

Decoration

  • 20 g heart-shaped sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Prepare Strawberries: Wash the strawberries carefully and pat them completely dry with paper towels, making sure to leave the green stems intact for easy dipping and presentation.
  2. Line Baking Sheet: Cover a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent the dipped strawberries from sticking and to make cleanup easier.
  3. Melt Dark Chocolate: Fill a small saucepan with a few centimeters of water and bring it to a gentle simmer. Place a heatproof bowl on top, making a double boiler setup. Add the dark chocolate chips and coconut oil into the bowl, stirring continuously until the mixture is smooth and completely melted.
  4. Dip Strawberries in Dark Chocolate: Holding each strawberry by the stem, carefully dip it into the melted dark chocolate, allowing any excess chocolate to drip off before placing it on the parchment-lined baking sheet.
  5. Chill Dipped Strawberries: Place the baking sheet with dipped strawberries in the refrigerator for 10 minutes to allow the dark chocolate coating to set firmly.
  6. Melt White Chocolate: Using the same double boiler method, melt the white chocolate chips until smooth. Transfer the melted white chocolate to a small piping bag or a zip-top plastic bag with a small corner snipped off for precise drizzling.
  7. Decorate with White Chocolate and Sprinkles: Drizzle the white chocolate over the chilled dark chocolate-covered strawberries. Immediately sprinkle the heart-shaped sprinkles on top to add a festive touch while the white chocolate is still wet.
  8. Final Chill and Set: Return the decorated strawberries to the refrigerator for an additional 5 minutes to allow the white chocolate and sprinkles to set perfectly before serving.

Notes

  • Ensure strawberries are completely dry before dipping to help chocolate adhere better.
  • Use high-quality chocolate for the best flavor and melting consistency.
  • The coconut oil helps create a smooth glossy chocolate coating.
  • Store finished strawberries in the refrigerator and consume within 1-2 days for optimal freshness.
  • You can substitute dark chocolate with milk or semi-sweet chocolate according to preference.
