Description

Indulge in the rich, chocolatey goodness of these decadent Chocolate Cinnamon Rolls. Perfect for a special breakfast treat or a delightful dessert.


Ingredients

Dough:

  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm milk (110°F)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

Filling:

  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips

Glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Dough: In a large bowl, dissolve the yeast in the warm milk. Add sugar, egg, melted butter, salt, and flour. Knead until smooth. Let rise for 1 hour.
  2. Filling: Mix brown sugar, cocoa, and cinnamon. Roll out dough, spread butter, sprinkle sugar mixture and chocolate chips. Roll up, slice, place in baking dish.
  3. Cover and let rise for 30 minutes. Bake at 350°F for 20–25 minutes.
  4. Glaze: Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla. Drizzle over warm rolls.

Notes

  • For extra decadence, top with cream cheese frosting instead of glaze.
  • Prepare the night before and bake fresh in the morning.
