Ingredients
Dough:
- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 3/4 cup warm milk (110°F)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
Filling:
- 1/3 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
Glaze:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Dough: In a large bowl, dissolve the yeast in the warm milk. Add sugar, egg, melted butter, salt, and flour. Knead until smooth. Let rise for 1 hour.
- Filling: Mix brown sugar, cocoa, and cinnamon. Roll out dough, spread butter, sprinkle sugar mixture and chocolate chips. Roll up, slice, place in baking dish.
- Cover and let rise for 30 minutes. Bake at 350°F for 20–25 minutes.
- Glaze: Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla. Drizzle over warm rolls.
Notes
- For extra decadence, top with cream cheese frosting instead of glaze.
- Prepare the night before and bake fresh in the morning.
