- ¼ cup honey or maple syrup

- Preheat Oven and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make removal easier.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine rolled oats, cinnamon, baking soda, salt, and granola. Stir well to evenly distribute all dry components.
- Combine Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the peanut butter, honey or maple syrup, and vanilla extract until smooth and homogenous.
- Combine Wet and Dry Mixtures: Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients bowl. Stir thoroughly until all ingredients are well combined and form a sticky mixture.
- Add Chocolate Chips: Gently fold in the chocolate chips to ensure they are evenly dispersed throughout the mixture without breaking them up.
- Press into Pan: Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Using a spatula or your hands, press the mixture down evenly and firmly to form a compact layer.
- Bake the Bars: Place the baking dish in the oven and bake for 15 to 18 minutes, until the edges turn golden brown and the center is firm and set.
- Cool and Slice: Remove from the oven and let the bars cool completely in the baking dish. Once cooled, lift the bars out using the parchment paper and cut into 9 equal squares.
