Description

Ingredients

For the Cookie Dough:

  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

For the Caramel Layer:

  • 1 (14 oz) bag caramel candies, unwrapped
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream


Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. Prepare the Dough: Mix flour, baking soda, and salt. Cream butter and sugars, add eggs and vanilla, then mix in dry ingredients and chocolate chips.
  3. Layer and Bake: Spread half the dough in the pan, bake for 10 minutes. Melt caramels with cream, pour over crust. Add remaining dough on top and bake for 15–18 minutes.
  4. Cool and Serve: Let the bars cool completely before cutting into squares.

Notes

  • For easier cutting, chill the bars in the refrigerator for 30 minutes after cooling.
