Ingredients
Main Bread Pudding:
- 6 cups cubed day-old French bread
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 4 large eggs
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (for greasing)
For the Cream Sauce:
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter.
- Mix Bread Pudding: In a large bowl, whisk together milk, heavy cream, eggs, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt. Add bread cubes, let sit for 10–15 minutes, then fold in chocolate chips. Pour into the dish.
- Bake: Bake for 40–45 minutes until golden and set.
- Make Cream Sauce: In a saucepan, heat cream, sugar, and cornstarch until thickened. Remove from heat, add butter and vanilla.
- Serve: Drizzle warm bread pudding with cream sauce.
