Ingredients

Dry Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)

Wet Ingredients:

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil or melted butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Additional:

  • 3/4 cup mini or regular chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 12-cup muffin tin with liners or grease.
  2. Mix dry ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon if using.
  3. Combine wet ingredients: In a large bowl, mash bananas and mix in sugars, oil, egg, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Combine dry and wet ingredients: Gradually fold in the dry ingredients until just combined. Do not overmix. Stir in chocolate chips.
