Ingredients
For the Stir Fry:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 small yellow onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
- 6 cups green cabbage, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 2 green onions, sliced for garnish
For Serving:
- Cooked rice
Instructions
- Heat the Oil: Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned.
- Cook Aromatics: Add diced onion, garlic, and ginger; cook until fragrant and onion is softened.
- Add Cabbage: Stir in sliced cabbage and cook until tender-crisp.
- Make Sauce: Mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes in a bowl.
- Combine: Pour sauce over beef and cabbage, cook briefly to combine flavors.
- Adjust Seasoning: Taste and adjust with salt and pepper.
- Serve: Serve hot over rice, garnish with green onions.
Notes
- You can use ground turkey or pork instead of beef.
- For a low-carb version, serve with cauliflower rice or enjoy on its own.
- Napa cabbage or purple cabbage can also be used.
