Description

Chili Cheese Tortilla Chips are a bold, oven-baked snack loaded with melty cheddar and smoky chili seasoning—perfect for game day, parties, or anytime you’re craving something extra cheesy and satisfying.

Ingredients

  • 1 bag thick-cut tortilla chips
  • 1½ cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1½ tsp chili powder
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp paprika (smoked or sweet)
  • Salt, to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Spread tortilla chips on a large baking sheet in a single, even layer.
  2. Drizzle with olive oil and toss gently to coat.
  3. In a small bowl, mix chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and salt. Sprinkle evenly over chips.
  4. Top with shredded cheddar cheese, letting some fall between the chips.
  5. Bake for 7–10 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbling, and chips are golden at the edges.
  6. Cool for a few minutes before serving to let the cheese set slightly.

Notes

  • Add sliced jalapeños before baking for extra heat.
  • Use Monterey Jack or pepper jack cheese for a twist.
  • Garnish with cilantro, sour cream, or green onions after baking.
  • To make ahead, prep chips with seasoning and cheese, freeze in a single layer, and bake directly from frozen.
