Ingredients
Ingredients:
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- ½ cup grated Asiago cheese
- ¼ cup chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- chopped fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Season the chicken: Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
- Sear the chicken: Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and sear for 5–6 minutes per side, or until golden and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F). Transfer chicken to a plate and set aside.
- Prepare the sauce: In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add the garlic. Cook for 30 seconds until fragrant. Stir in heavy cream, Dijon mustard, chicken broth, Asiago cheese, thyme, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 4–5 minutes, stirring frequently, until the sauce thickens and cheese is melted.
- Combine and serve: Return the chicken to the skillet and spoon sauce over the top. Simmer for 2 more minutes to heat through. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately.
Notes
- Serve with mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or buttered noodles.
- For extra depth, add a splash of white wine with the broth.
- Asiago can be swapped for Parmesan if desired.
